The first Overseer

The Overseer Suite consists of three applications which may be downloaded free of charge and used indefinitely by small schools (up to 75 enrolled students). Larger schools will require an Overseer Admin site license and activation key to enable higher enrolment (and password support). Additional licenses are also needed to authorize more than one teacher to use the Overseer LAN or Overseer Grades applications.
Major releases of Overseer products (e.g. 1.2, 1.3 … 1.9) coincide with new product offerings and/or upgrades in the structure of Overseer databases. Upon installation of any software upgrade since 1.2, an existing school database will automatically be updated if necessary to the new database structure for immediate use with the latest software.
Minor releases (e.g. 1.601, 1.602, 1.603) within a major release include bug fixes and/or minor enhancements only.

Since the release of Overseer 1.205, RSI has always posted the most current version of its Overseer applications (with the exception of Overseer Reports) on its web site for free download by schools.
To date, RSI has never charged a license upgrade fee from one software release to another, even across major releases. For example, an Overseer 1.2 license is of equal value to an Overseer 1.9 Admin site license, without payment of any upgrade fee since the original license was issued.
An Overseer Primer user’s manual is distributed with original software licenses and with some major software releases – to schools with an active support agreement. This manual includes a current Overseer CD.
The Overseer CD contains full installations for the Overseer Suite of applications, together with all of the documentation which is in the Overseer Primer. The same information is available for download from RSI’s web site. An Overseer CD is also available by mail for a nominal shipping and handling fee.
Overseer Reports is only available by CD and requires a valid user license for each computer installation. Upgrades are available free of charge to users with a valid support agreement.
Annual email support is available for all Overseer products at a fee of 20% of the current list price of the supported products. Lapsed support agreements can be renewed at a fee of 40% of the current list price.
