New Features and Bug Fixes in Overseer Version 1.602

Some new features were added to Overseer Admin 1.602 to enable a teacher to use Overseer Grades even though Overseer is not installed in the school office. Some minor upgrades (e.g. additional user warning messages) are not documented below.

1. A new preference setting, Overseer Admin Usage, was added to the School | Preferences screen to enable or disable the special features below. The default setting Central/Office should always be chosen when used by school administrative staff. The Teacher Only setting is appropriate for a single teacher, as the sole user of Overseer Admin within a school.
2. The Teacher Only setting of Overseer Admin Usage enables two new buttons on Student list boxes (Add and Delete) to support quick enrolment or removal of students for a full session. This speeds up data entry for teachers.
3. A new Overseer 1.6 Teachers Quick Start Manual was created to guide a teacher through the essential administrative tasks of setting up a personal Grades database.

The following bugs in Overseer 1.601 were fixed in version 1.602

1. Since Overseer 1.600, the error message Invalid variant type conversion could be encountered when enrolling a new student in a local school. This only occurred when the Auto assign Email/Login names option was enabled via the School | Preferences screen, General tabsheet. This bug was not harmful, but prevented auto-assignment of a student login name and password.
2. Since Overseer 1.600, an Access violation ... error message may have been encountered when using the Session | Create Grades Database or Session | Synchronize with Grades DB menu options, without an installed Overseer Admin site license.
3. Since the first release of Overseer, a bug existed in Family group reports and Organization group reports which resulted in printing of an invalid address in the case of a missing family address or organization address. The address shown was that of the previous valid Family or Organization.

Although Overseer LAN was updated to version 1.602, there is no change to its functionality except for revised help screens which include documentation of the above new features for Overseer Admin users. No changes were made to Overseer Grades.
